Highpoint: A wonderful night at the JV (jesuit volunteer) house here in sitka. Sushi, beer, and a bit o' dance party.... no complaints.
Lowpoint: Waking up at noon to an empty home.
Notable happening: Great life conversations with Liz. Life conversations just solidify friendships for me, so it was nice to get that.
Funny story of the day: Tonight Jackie (another JV and thus one of Liz's roommates) tried to teach me a dance move called "the pancake". Let me just say... I wasn't getting it, which made me uncomfortable, because everyone was watching me. Then Jackie tried to physically assist me in doing this dance move... the touching and controlling involved here also made me uncomfortable. Then because assisting face to face wasn't working so well, Jackie decided to move around me and try to help me while standing behind me. Without thinking I may have blurted out, "I don't exactly like to be controlled from behind". Which rounds out the Quote of the day as well.
Today was a really good day. I spent some time with the family, and some time with Leah and Aaron, then the JV house. I'm starting to feel like I'm coming into a life here in Sitka... I don't exactly hate it.
